The love for ancestral nutrition, baking, and God above all, have come together to create Amen Bakehouse. What was conceived in 2025 as a solo venture by Lara has now become a family business, as sister Gwyneth and mother Diane have combined forces.
Amen Bakehouse has humble beginnings - a hyper-fixation on making the most nutrient-dense bread possible; scarcely any money in the bank; and a God-given mission to bring Jesus to the health food people, and health food to the Jesus people.
We have been into ‘alternative’ health & living for our whole lives - questioning the main-stream, claiming sovereignty, and seeking truth. The systems of modern society, particularly food, do not align with health and wellbeing. We believe there is no such thing as an impartial choice, especially when it comes to what we consume: so in the bakery, and in every area, we choose God, life, goodness and truth.
Everything we create at Amen Bakehouse begins with God-given heritage grains, in Ezekiel 4:9. These grains go through an extensive process before becoming bread and baked goods - which you can read about here.
We live and bake in East Grinstead, Sussex, England, with the help of Lara's two-year-old daughter Angelica.
